Crime Prevention Unit

 The Glassboro Police Crime Prevention Unit is comprised of officers that specialize and take part in various community programs, events and educational presentations. You’ll find these officers handing out information and answering questions at CommUnity Day, our annual Shred Event in April or collecting unused or unwanted medications during Operation Take Back.

Officers in the Unit are available to speak at events or meetings held by local organizations, schools, Boy and Girl Scout troops and more. Whether it’s speaking about identify theft, online safety or bicycle safety, we can tailor an educational program to suit your needs. Additionally, we can conduct a “Home Security Survey” to help you identify ways to make your home less vulnerable to break-ins or schedule a tour of the police department for you youth group or club. All of this is free of charge and available at your convenience.

Our department is also proud to take part in the New Jersey “Project Medicine Drop” program! This program aims to stop the abuse of prescription drugs, which often begins at home and allows residents to dispose of their unused medications safely and securely at any time throughout the year.

Our department has a secured drop box at Police headquarters where you can drop off unneeded and expired medications seven days a week – and keep them away from those at risk of abusing them. The drop boxes accept solid pharmaceuticals such as pills, capsules, patches, inhalers, and pet medications. They cannot accept syringes or liquids.
